Here is a bit of a newbish question. I have a few plants in my tank that are suppose to spread with runners.  So, will these plants just sprout leaves grow under the gravel and then all of a sudden pop up? Or do they slowly just grow? I swear I have a plant that wasn't there yesterday and today there is a leaf. Um...does that even make sense, lol?

*editors note* that was actually three questions  ;)

Definitely possible. Rosette aquatic plants like crypts, sagittaria, swords, hairgrass and others send runners either just beneath the surface or along the surface. Got any pics?

Theres are the sprouts, sware they weren't there before!

I think it might of came from this plant.

That plant looks like Blyxa Japonica & propagates via side shoots of the mother plant, it does not send out runners.

+2^ for Blyxa Japonica, which is stem and not a rosette, and propagates by division as opposed to runners.

OK.  Weird.  I wonder if it's from one of the other plants in there.  Told you it was a newbish question!

Thanks to the two of you. :)
