So I send a e-mail to Hagen asking why the Thermal 100w submersible heater has a warning on it saying "Do Not Immerse Beyond Waterline"

Been a week and I still have not got an answer. I doubt there is a good one :?

Because they don't have CSA approval.  You can submerge it... but without the CSA approval they can't be held liable if something goes wrong.

That' holds true for just about every other heater maker except Rena.  Theirs IS CSA approved.

Go ahead and dunk it, you'll be fine.

Had bought one but return it .

But if I remember correctly it was not garrenteed past a certain depth , maybe ,about ten feet.
So for most tanks your safe.

I have an all glass heater that says non-submersable but it is fully submersable.

I think because its something to do with it being unsafe in the states.

I actually have the same question for long time because i have
2 different manufacture's heatera and they both have that line on them. one of my old one was broken due to moisture inside the tube. then i realized that i better not fully submerge them even they said they are fully submersable
