I was walking down the street and a man was hammering on a roof top and he called me a Paranoid Little Weirdo. . . in morse code.

It's enough to make a man give up reefing.

WOW! Unbelievable...
on the flip side, it must be a lot of work to keep them the 'scape looking so good
takes dedication that's for sure!
Thanks for the inspiration!

No, it's fine.  I was just joking around since AquaDigital posted the same link on Facebook a few minutes before Ray posted it on here.

Here is an interesting perspective from a reefer in response to that article, which it would appear has gone viral in most aquarium hobby communities .
QuoteWe are getting creamed in the aquascaping department

By Jake Adams on Jan 16, 2014

I love aquariums so much, it doesn't matter what kind of tank it is, as long as someone's put some Love into it, it shows. As hard as we work and fiddle with and try to perfect our reef aquariums, we are absolutely losing the aquascaping front to just about any of the well arranged, meticulously groomed planted freshwater tanks.
In order to be a better editor to you, I read a lot of blogs, blogs of all kinds, including technology and popular culture. So imagine my surprise yesterday when Technology blog Gizmodo had a featured post on the awesome world of aquascaping, and it's all about the freshie tanks.

As impressive as reef tanks are, and can be, for every picture of a jaw dropping reef tank that I can find to impress an uninitiated non-aquarist, I can dig up a hundred scaped freshwater tanks that will blow it away. When it comes to the aquascaping world, to say we lost would be somehow implying that we are even in the game.
Come on you guys! We KNOW how to grow corals, we know how to grow corals fast, and we have a MUCH bigger palette of colors, textures, shapes and critters with which to make bomb-diggedy, aquascaped reef scenes. This year I challenge the collective reef aquarium community, all over the world, to step up and create some reef tanks that really meet the criteria of aquascaping.

I seriously love planted and freshwater aquariums, but saltwater and reefs are my passion. I am tired of losing mindshare in popular culture to some kid with a 15 gallon tank, a normal output striplight and a little bit of hairgrass. Surely out there somewhere is a kid with a nano reef, a decent LED and some green star polyps who can get the ball rolling with a legitimately aquascaped marine or reef aquarium. Show us what you got!

wow is an understatement, but wow
