Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking to get back into the hobby. I'm sure I'm going to have lots of questions getting started but as a first, I was hoping to get some advice on LED lighting. I'm looking into getting a StarFire tank by Fire (24"x 16"x 16") with a low tech (no CO2), simple freshwater set up with plants that will do well in low to medium lighting. I was thinking Amazon Swords. The filtration I will be using is an Aquaclear HOB that I already have to cut down on costs and ease my way back into the hobby. So based on the set up I was planning, any suggestions on what LED lighting I could use where the low-medium light plants would do well in? I was considering the Current Satellite Freshwater LED or the Marineland Double Bright LED mainly because I like their low profile and the price is reasonable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Excited to be part of the forum  :)

Welcome to the forum.
I have the same tank you are intending to get, it`s a nice size to work with. If you are looking for budget LED fixtures to grow the medium /low light plants I would suggest you have a look at the Finnex fuge Ray or the Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED Plus, it may be necessary to hang it  higher than have it sit on the tank, this will enable controlling the intensity, the Fluval Aqualife & Plant  LED lighting is another worth considering, I have not personally used any of these fixtures but have come across  quite a few hobbyist using them.
One thing to consider is the planting of an Amazon sword in a 24 inch tank, they can occupy a fair bit of your tank when they mature.

Welcome to ovas!  I also have the exact same tank. I would look into the Finnex planted +, they are a good option for low-med light intensity, and you get the wider spectrum of colours plants like, for a reasonable price. Check them out on amazon and finnex.ca.
