Breeder box question

Bought a few Rummynoses tetras today. They are very small, and I'm pretty sure my larger fish will eat them. So I have them in an empty breeder box (no levels) in the aquarium. Does it matter if the breeder box floats or not? My filters keep sinking it because it is free floating and nothing has worked to keep it in one spot. Any feed back would be great!

I would get a bin from Walmart and put a heater and a established HOB filter. Floating would cause stress which theyd get stressed and cause them not to grow and probably die.

I have a bunch of these quick grips.  They are so useful for holding tubes, floating bags and breeder boxes.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately two of them have passed and I don't have very high hopes for last few- they look pretty stressed! They are in their own tank now, so we'll see how it goes.
