Prohibited Plants

Hello all,

We've had some registrations of items prohibited or restricted in Ontario in the auction so far, so we figured it'd be a good idea to list some common (or formerly common) aquarium plants that cannot be legally sold in Ontario:

• Brazilian elodea, Egeria densa. Also known as anacharis
• Eurasian Water-Milfoil, Myriophyllum spicatum
• Hydrilla, Hydrilla verticillata
• Flowering Rush, Butomus umbellatus
• Floating Primrose-Willow, Ludwigia peploides (but not other varieties of Ludwigia)
• Fanwort, Cabomba caroliniana
• European Water Chestnut, Trapa natans
• European Frog-bit, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae
• Oxygen Weed, Lagarosiphon major
• Parrot Feather, Myriophyllum aquaticum
• Water Fern, genus Azolla
• Water Soldier, Stratiotes aloides
• Watermoss, genus Salvinia
• Yellow Floating-heart, Nymphoides peltata (but not other Nymphoides)

These items cannot be sold at the auction and will be removed. If we have enough notice, we will ask you to remove them yourselves. Thank you for understanding.
