Help me somthing is eating my ludwigia repens

Help me!! something is eating my ludwigia repens,  I have some snails as well as the list below.  Something is eating away at the leaves near the bottom of the plant.  

As well I have some Java Fern that is attached to rock and wood,  it would seem to be wilting. or burning.  The leaves seem to turn brown and looking dead.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

what kind of snail? also what kind of fish you have in the tank? I have tons of those plants you mentioned, I can spare you some.
