Due to my busy but not excusable work habit, I have not taken care of my tank as I should. I have green algae growing on the rocks and glass. Does anyone have suggestions on how to rid my tank of this nasty looking stuff? I know a good cleaning and water change is needed, but other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't overfeed the fish if anyone is going to throw that one at me *wink*.

i use a hard bristle brush to clean off rocks/glass.careful not to get grains caught in it or you will scratch your glass.

Do you have blue/green algae?  Does it grow in sheets and stinks like mad?

Add some nitrate if you have it.  And then do a blackout.  100% killer on BGA
