I am looking to keep my betta warm this fall and winter. Would this heater be okay.

Marc

The description with the picture says the heater is for aquariums from 2 to 5 gallons in size.  If this matches your tank size then it should be okay.

I've never used such a heater myself so I can't say first hand.

On another board the group had mixed feelings about that heater.  Size wise it is Ok for the 1 gallon, but some people said it didn't keep an even temperature, perhaps because of lighting over the tank or room temperature as well.
How cool does your house get?  If you keep the house or just that room warm enough, you might not need a heater.

This is a problem of small volume tanks - it is very difficult to have stable temperature until the environment temperature is stable.
From the onther hand, I think 1G for betta is not enough. I like him in the community tank, just without other males. He even good to some extend (not killing her   ) with the female.

I might try something like that in a 5 or a 10, where can I get one.
I have seen others with betta tanks put the tank on a heating pad or on top of a light or something to keep the water warm.
but I wouldn't really trust that

on a related note regarding small things. I was at big als a while ago and saw a mini filter on the nano-cube.  it was a really tinny filter. like the size of a film canister
