Any suggestions to keep fry from being sucked into the filter?? We've got an Aquaclear Mini, and I've tried a bit of nylon (as in pantihose) over the end of the intake, but that seems to slow the flow down to almost nothing. Are there better solutions?
Thanks :)

I use a sponge, a filter sponge, hole in the center and retain in place with an elastic.

A most excellent idea - thanks, we'll try that!

Yep, a bit of filter sponge works well. Just cut and "X" into it and slide it over the intake basket.

Once again Pegasus is right on the money, it saves the fry from being sucked in and also has plenty of surface area where the fry can pick off one cell organisms to add to their diet.
I find with all the aquariums I have sponges over the filter intake the water is cleaner and the fry grow faster.
