need help with a filstar canister filter

my filter was fine...then one day there was no more pressure.

if i slowed the flow and then turned it back up and for a few minutes everytime i did this the flow would be back to normal but then would drop to a dribble again.

my husband and i checked for blockage in the pipes, i cleaned the filter and made sure there was no air in it.

we've done everything we can think of but the flow is still just a dribble.

any suggestions?

Hi, Have you taken the impeller out and cleaned it and the hole that it fits into, also the big rubber "o" ring at the top of the filter may need to be replaced because if the seal is not tight it will suck in air.

the seals were just replaced but i have not tried cleaning the impeller...do i need to take apart the powerhead?

Yes what I do is take the top off the filter and you will see where the impeller sits, remove the plastic screw cover thing then pull out the impeller. I use a baby bottle brush to clean inside the impeller housing and the impeller itself. Has this filter been running for a long time?
