About to transfer some live plants from a tank with snails to a newly cycled tank without any.  What would be the best and safest way to make sure the snails don't make it into my new tank?  The new tank won't contain any snail eating fish, so I want to be as careful as possible.  Suggestions would really be appreciated.

What kind of snails are you talking about?

If pond snails, you're probably going to get snails whether you want them or not.  There are probably eggs all over your plants already!

Dip your plants in a solution containing Potassium Permangenate for 10 minutes.

Alternately, you can do a dip in a mixture of 1 part bleach, 19 parts water.  Only keep the plants in this mixture for a minute or two at most.

Be sure to rinse well after using either method!
