Warning to Gatineau residents - Changes in water params

Hey guys, just thought I'd give a heads up

You may want to check your water out of the tap before you do your water changes this weekend.  The water, which normally tests between 6.8 and 7 on my calibrated digital pH probe, is currently testing at 7.9.  Last time I tested my tap was last weekend and it was 7.0 steady.  I re-calibrated my meter just to be sure, and sure enough the water is at almost 8 today.

Sensitive-fish owners, be aware.

but BTW i recommend people test their water at each major season change.
you will see more and town doiing that in the futur.

Actually, it must have been something temporary in the pipes.  I took another sample tonight and it is measuring at 7.1
