I just got my new 110 gallon oscar tank setup an i need to get them in there asap because one of my other tanks has sprung a leak so i am putting the fish in the leaky tnak in the oscar tnak an the oscars are goin in the new tank it hasnt cycled very long day at the the most I knwo i should let it cycle but would it hurt the oscars if they moved in there new tank tonight or tomorow if i do frequent water changes i put in a filter from there tnak to start the cycle an some other chemicals that also help the cycle would this all be enough  ????

IMO if you put the old filter on your new tank, you should be fine..I do this all the time without incident

StylinT

so if put them in tonight they should be ok  ?

an also what would be the best filtration fo rthis tank i have never owned a tank witha oak hood canopy on it can you use aquaclear 500 an d 300 on them or do ya have to switch to fluval 404 or filters of the same style

StylinT> I have done this before, I just  moved my oscars to a 55 gallon, I put aproximatly 45 gallons into the tank, declorinated it, waited an hour so that everything went through the filter (which came from my old tank) and then took 10 gallons from the tank my oscars were in and put them in the new tank, aslong as the temp and ph are the same you shouldnt have a problem, chances are your oscars are not babies, so they should be strong and be able to quickly adjust, within an hour or two mine regained there color and were back to there old begging for food ways ;)

Me too,  I have filled a 55 partially with water from an existing tank,  and used half the media from an AC 500 with no problems.

If the tank wasnt properly fishless cycled, thjen there will certainly be an ammonia and nitrite spike at some point a few days or weeks after seeting it up this way. Your fish may be able to handle it (cichlids are pretty tough), but they might not be able to. Be sure to monitor the ammonia and nitrite and do water changes if it gets too high.

ya i was gonna moniter it for spikes i knew it would happen if it
an they are pretty tuff my oscars thye are about 7 - 9 inches

an does anyone know also what i should do about the canpoy
