Pregnant swordtail

Ok, i have a 20 gallon tank with lots of fish in it.(including guppies, angels, neon tetras)
About 5 months ago i put in two baby sword tails(2) that i got from a friend.
One was a male, the other was a female.(brother and sister)
About a month-and a half ago i realized that female was pregnant.
I realized this because she has a dark spot on her belly and her belly is very very round(fat).
So she has been pregnant for all that time.
My problem is that she will never give birth.
I think its because she is too nervous to give birth with these other fish around.
Is this possible :?:

Do you think I should put the mother in a seperate 10 gallon tank with a couple of plants?
Should I put the male in too?
Oh, and another thing, i dont have an extra heater.- will she still give birth, if not ill get a heater.

Any suggestions would be great

I had the same situation with my son's platy's.  I bought one of those in tank hatcheries and as soon s I put her in there she have birth.  Like you said, it's almost like she knows not to give birth before she is in a safe place.  I've done this twice now and both times she gave birth as soon as I put her in the hatchery.

I bought the one that has a platform in the middle so the newborn fall through to the bottom half of the hatchery.

Thanks but i decided to put her in a seperate tank so she can give birth.

Ok, i just went to the lfs and i was just going to buy a heater(for the tank i was going to her in) when i thought, why would i get this, i have a breeding net that i could put the pregnant female in.(so i would keep her in the same tank as all the other fish)
Am i doing the right thing?
Will she give birth to the fry in the breeding trap?
Or is this the best way to go.
I really need some answers.
