The site is good but for some reason they list cutting the dose in half for tetras but there is no mention of scaleless fish like loaches which need only half a dose as a regular dose will likely kill them.

A small parasite that is frequently present in aquarium water, but can strike easier when fished are stress or in adverse conditions.

Ick and Ich are the same thing...and one of the symptoms is itching fish, although the dead give away is the appearance of "salt grains" on the scales of your fish. Here's an article from a cichlid site on how to deal with it, along with some background info.

There are some differing views out there as to what causes Ich. What we do know is that it is a ciliated protozoan that is thought to come into an aquarium by a host fish or by infected water, aquarium decorations, substrate etc. Typically, fish with weaker immune systems or no scales exhibit symptoms first.

Ich is one of the easier problems to get rid of, but can quickly take out your fish if not dealt with expediently.

i added more salt to the aquarium and the parasite is coming off of my fish, plus adding treatment.
