I currently have a 55 gallon cichlid tank.  I want to change the setup entirely to a planted community tank and I have some questions:

The substrate in cichild tank is crushed coral.  I can keep/store it for future use?  Any special procedures that you would recommend.
How long can it be stored for?

I want to use the same canister filter that I' using now.  Should I clean it out completely and start the cycle all over again?

I have a peice of driftwood in the tank now, can it be transferred to the new setup.  Any special procedures?

And one more...has anyone had experience with this product?

Thanks a bunch.

with regards to the substrate, I wouldn't use crushed coral in a planted tank for a variety of reasons.
with regards to the filter as long as you keep it wet for a few hours it should be fine as long as you do the changeover fast.
any longer than 3 hours and things in it might start dying.
driftwood-  remove, drop on carpet, install in new tank.
dunno about the reactor.

I'm not planning to use the coral in the planted tank, I'm going with new substrate.

I was wondering if I can store it for a future setup, possibly a marine tank.  And how to go about doing it.

Or should I just throw it out?

Thanks for the advice.
