I' ve post an OVAS photo album on a Betta experiment that I had done a couple of years ago.

They grew very quickly.

A very interesting series of photographs. Just to be sure, was the  experiment to try and raise some Betta fry using as little space as possible?

From the looks of it the project was a great success. While I have been able to get Bettas to spawn (for example in a bucket on my mother's porch) I have not been very succesful raising them to maturity.

Any more narrative that you can provide to go with the photos would be eagerly anticipated.

This could form the basis of a  Betta breeding HOW-TO type document.

As soon as I put the pair in a heated aquarium, the male started his bubble nest.

Nice thing about digital camera, it dates your pictures.

They were fed brine shrimp four times a day for the first three weeks. Since I found the shrimp hatching troublesome, I tried beef heart. I past it through a flour sheave and fed the fry, the remaining big chunk went to the cichlids. I've always used beef heart for speeding the growth of my fish.

I called it an experiment, since I raise only Africans. These were for my wife. I had only one tank and one heather to spare.
