I've got a 5G planted community tank with some rasboras, one sickly guppy (fin rot?), 3 amano shrimp, 2 ghost shrimp.
So, one amano shrimp is carrying full of eggs. (in her 'fins').

Has anyone had any luck with raising shrimp?  Anything I can do to help more survive?  I also have a fry tank with about 50 guppy fry (couple weeks old).

Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, none of your Amano shrimp larvae are likely to survive to maturity without a lot of work on your part. In nature the larvae float downstream to salt water where they continue to develop for some time before returning to freshwater where they remain as adults.

While reproducing these conditions in the aquarium is not impossible, it is still in the experimental stages, with very few people having achieved any measure of success. If you are looking for a challenge however, I think it could be a very interesting project.

Cheers,

Ron
