Unfortunately I have no experience raising brine shrimp, however, I did come across the link below while searching the web.

I use 3 commercial black brine shrimp hatcheries at the same time restarting one of the three per day. It works well for me.

I fill it with aquarium water then add 3/4 teaspoon of rock salt and 1/4 epsom salt and <1/8 teaspoon of brine shrimp eggs. Aerate the water for the first 18 hours then add the upper chamber. The hatched brineshrimp start collecting in the upper chamber within 6 more hours. YOu can collect the shrimp for two more days in that hatchery, then rinse and start over.

I'm curious David. Why the epsom salt? You are not feeding the shrimps. (Please forgive the satire, the question is serious) :o

Hi ,
I have actually 4 x 2 little bottle going all the time and  i use 2 bottle every day to feed my fry.
i make my hatchery by myself with 2 litters / gallons coke bottle

everynigth i start 2 bottle and use them the nigth after.
i fill the bottle with tap water (without any water conditiong , the clhore inside the tap water start to decapsulate the eggs just enough to get a hatching in 24 hour)
this method work for me for more than one year.

here how i work :
every nigth i start 2 bottle by filling them with tap water and start the bublle.
i leave the bottle like that for 15min to reache the room temp (29 degre celcius in my fish room)
i add 1,5 tea spoon of eggs to each bottle and let it like that for 20 to 30 mins to re-hydrate the eggs.
after i add 1.5 table spoon of natural salt anf that's all

the nigth after ,i stop the buble and let the mix there for 15 to 20 minute to separate eggs shelves and nauplies
then i harvest my nauplies and clean completly each bootle with very hot tap water.
durint this time i start my other two bottle.

my hatching rate is close to 95%

if you have question let me know

total cost : close to 0 (in fact cost is Salt, water, air tubing , and the eggs :))

As well as the heating!

I use just glass jar left after coffee plus air stone. Just before feeding I switch of the air and 5 minutes later I'm pumping them with the tube and filtering. You guys maybe have very quality eggs, but I have nauplies getting out from the eggs even on the 5 day. So, I ususally change them on the 5-th day. And for sure I don't use hatchery when I have nobody to feed (too young or too old)

epsom salt as well as regular salt for brine shrimp? because great salt lake has some in it as well.

I agree: the prices being charged for a simple bit of plastic are grossly excessive.
Can't get much cheaper than this, though:

I don't like that setup.  It makes the bottle top heavy.  With the water churning because of aeration, it's quite easy for the bottle to tip.

hey dan,
i was looking @ ur post here and i from wut i c in my opinoin u should look at the websites some of the people suggested...i just sort of skimmed through though so there may have also been some good recipies, you could also ask the people at super pet.
but i dont see why you cant try diffrent mixtures of diffrent people's recepies, although that may be a bad suggestion...i dont really know to much abouth fish, but i'm learning i may have made a good suggestion who knows the way i see i there's no harm in trying.

any way good luck dan :) .
