hazing

Hi, I know this might sound silly, but there is a constant layer of grease on the surface of the water in my tank.
Does anyone know what it is? If it's harmful to my fish or how to prevent/remove it>?

Thanks.

Not that this is anything you wont find in the other thread, but what can i say. I have some time to kill.

I hate that stuff too hazing. With most filters there is a enough splashing from the return to keep that gunk form building up, but some filters, especially ones with spraybars, don't break the surface at all. You can get a Surface Skimmer attachment for your filter intake at most pet stores or you can make your water return splash more.

That crud impedes gas exchange between your tank the the atmosphere.  :)
