just wanting to find out from the guys that picked it up to see how well it is still doing? if they had a chance would the get something better for what its worth? or do you think its a complete piece of garbage..?

It's still working really well.  It stops, syphon breaks, if the water levels drop too far but then that's a good warning that you need a top up.  This doesn't happen often and even when it does the impeller is still in water and the otor doesn't burn out..

It still picks up a lot of crud and for the price it's brilliant.  Remember it's about a quarter of the price of other skimmers.

Recommended...yes absolutely for smaller tanks!  I'd even maybe think of putting two on a larger tank like a 30g.  I'm picking up a 10g soon as a quarantine tank and if I turn this into a regular SW tank I'll pick up another one of the skimmers.
