The micro algea just sits there how does it get there?
Sorry im pretty clueless on thiss:S

that MACRO algae just sits there... you get it from a friend or a store and place it in the fuge (refuge).
a refugium is a place to keep critters and algae that would not survive in the main tank.

We all start clueless, Forums have helped me a bunch.

Would this principle/method of dividing work on a larger tank... Say, a 40 gallon breeder (36x18x15)? Just curious. Thanks.  :)

If you would decide to devide your 40g do the sump/refuge section not on the side, but on the rare wall. It is not good when all this stuff is visible, but yes, takes much less acrillyc to build.

I might add its a matter of personal taste, I like to see the refuge in this matter as I have the option of isolating something that may be harmful to the main display (maybe a interesting hermit that hitchhiked in). I am probably in the minority on this one though as most people do hide the sump and refuge.
