Any SA Cichlid keepers?

I'm thinking of starting a SA Cichlid tank in a 55g (probably).  I was wondering what kind of fish combinations some of you have kept (or keep).  I was looking at the new  Gymnogeophagus Sp. Norte Spencer Jack has in stock and sound like an interesting/nice looking species that might be worth ordering next time Ovas has a group order with him.  Would Rams and Appistos work with Geophagus' as well?
