Hey all, is the aquaclear 110 still on sale at Persmart? and would that be good for a 120g tank?

Thanks

Heidi

You might be better off with a canister filter or 2 on a tank this size. I have 2 fluvals working on my 120 gal tank.  You could probably get away with 1 eheim of appropriate size.  Now is the perfect time to look at them with all the sales going on.
120 gal - Salt water Fish Only
25 gal - Salt Water Reef
Rotti named Nimh
Cat named Yoda
Numerous Bearded Dragons
Numerous BP's and other snakes
Numerous other geckos and lizards

agree with Heidi, go with canisters, 2 is the best if you are thinking overstoking. I have 2 canisters on my 125 ans the water is perfect. It could be also good to go with a HOB, with your canister. You never had enough filtration.

Isn`t the aquaclear 110 rated for 75g max
Dont skimp on filtration
I use a Fluval 305 on my 75g and only paid 99.95 at Superpet when it was changing name.
What are you planning on stocking in your 120g

The AC110 is "rated" for 110 gallons max (thus the numbering scheme).

However, it really depends on the fish load of the tank, its size, and how much flow is wanted/needed.

The AC110 is rated for 500 gallons per hour.  In a typical HOB, the optimal turnover rate is 10 times the size of the tank.  So "optimally" an AC110 is good for up to a 50 gallon tank.
