White pool sand?

Can I use white pool sand without affecting my pH levels? What other sands can I use?

Yes, it is silica sand and it is inert so will not affect water chemistry.

just wash it
wash it well! LOL I did one tank just a quick rinse and dumped it in, it took quite awhile to completely clear up, and the other tank I spent an hour cleaning sand (there was a lot!) and the tank took a day to clear up.

do NOT breath in the dust!! follow warnings on the bag!
