I am going to be adding live rock and sand to my 220 gal in a few weeks. I have read about the reactor controlling algae. Would this be a good thing or or not?
Also would it be used on a regular basis. Later on or is it just a quick fix to a normal problem.

I just got one of these little guys they are great... they have more than just one purpose for sure... but back on track... are you using tap or RO... if Tap I would say.. run the phosband right of the bat for sure.. but either way can't hurt to run all of the time

I am running tap water from a well, Water has been tested and is very hard. I have a water softener and a Iron filter on my house system. I have filled the tank to test for leaks and equipment .Everything is OK , so I tested the water for iron, Ph, hardness all OK.

It all depends on what you need to be happy with your tank. Simple, low tech tanks are totally viable but do have limitations. I have gotten by for three years on well water with no serious phosphate issues. But that is due to luck with my well water quality and simplistic reef system.

Dont forget that some corals  Ex: Xenia  relay on phosphate to propagate and live ...

i alway keep some low level in my tank !!

  Thanks , Hope this help
