Cleaner Shrimp spawning

   This morning at 2h35am i happen to be awake and was watching my 55g reef tank ,

    Then i start watching one of my cleaner shrimp acting kinda weird .. she start releasing all the little shrimp in the tank ..There was maybe a thousand of them ...i tought my cleaner shrimp was deflating !! LOL !!  1 Minutes after all where already eaten ..did anyone ever try to Breed these in captivity ?

My emrald crab did the same thing

Mine does the same thing.. Actually sometimes it does something pretty strange - before releasing the babies, it uses it's own claws and picks them out of it's own belly and eats them.  Kinda morbid but I guess it makes for a good snack

yeah make them spawn is fairly easy
raise the young is something else

You miss all of the fun stuff if you only look in your marine tank when the lights are on
