will UV Clarifier break down Plant nutrients?

Will a UV Clarifier breakdown any of the plants nutrients from ferts?

Any other issues with a UV unit?

Trying to get rid of the green water that goes then comes back so I was thinking of putting a UV filter in the filter loop.  I used the pond one with a pond pump and it did work but only had it setup on a temporary basis.  It seemed to clear it up but not totally.  I am going to install it in the filtration loop.  That way I can turn it on and off as needed.
