I *had* a flat pinkish brown worm in my tank (1 cm?) it was soft and was hiding under a piece of rock could this be a flatworm?

It ripped so easily trying to take it off the rock...

any ideas? and no pics sorry..

You can watch his blood move up and down his spine like a pong paddle :o

yup bristle worm.
harmless and actually quite beneficial to your tank. I found a 5 incher in my tank and transferred him to the new tank right away!

Thanks guys, Mom is a little less freaked to know it's just a scavenger

Fishhead89

Yeah it's a bristleworm. They get really big - I've read up to 2cm in diameter. I have one in my tank that looks like a catepillar.. (probably the same size.)

There are a lot of different species of these things. Some are not beneficial scavengers. That one looks like the basic run of the mill BW but some of the others mentioned in this thread might not be.

if they get too much food they will reprodice like crazy. A Six Line Wrasse is one of the fish recommended to keep the population of BW's from exploding.
