hey guys,
i was just wondering what people think about using wood across the top of the tank to rest my tek 36" 6xt5 light fixture. would mold be creadted by the evaporation of air? If i used P/T wood, would it leak any harmful stuff in my tank?

I would rather not pay the $80 for the legs. i do have the suspension kit but my parents would prefer if i didn't hang it.

Any suggestions would be amazing.

Thanks,
Corey

I would use pvc pipes before I would use wood.

What about using L brackets that are mounted to the studs on the back wall and connect your suspension kit to the end of the bracket?

I've used wood on top of my tank for almost two years now, no issues whatsoever.  Ray uses it on a couple of his tanks as well without any problems.  I would never mount a halide light with it of course, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to use PVC if you are worried about it.

no its t5s so i think it should be ok. Im going to rethink suspending it but if not i think ill use wood.
