Ok so I have been reading about people using PVC tubes to support live rock.  Are there any nasty chemicals that can leak out of the pipes or the glue?  I know its what most people use for plumbiing on sumps and stuff but they arent submerged and I wasnt sure it it would matter.

if your useing it to support rock you dont need to glue it, press fit together

+1 for not gluing, but either way, once cured it's food-grade...

PVC is for SUPPLY lines for water.. so it's food-grade... ABS is for waste lines, so it is not food grade rated... though it appears that other than color there isn't any difference...  8)

Some ABS is treated with harmful chemicals. It will be fine to use only if find some that isn't treated (I wouldn't trust the salesperson, talk to the manufacturer). Using glue will not harm your tank once it's cured.
