skunk loach with cichlids?

I have a 33g cichlid tank with 4 fish and a pleco. I am thinking about put my skunk loaches with them for bottom feeders in the tank. I have read yes&no to the high ph levels. Has anyone tried this? are they compatible?

I have a 120 gallon tank with about 20 cichlids and i have 3 clown loaches and a skunk loach with them and had no problem .
