Was in the new store yesterday - very impressive.  Steve at the store in Barhaven will have to kick it up a notch I think.

On the other hand all those sparkling new tanks and healthy livestock will only be maintained if they have someone with Steve's pedigree and pride in his/her work to ensure it continues.

Any good sales on livestock?

None - but the manager did confirm that the opening sale would have some good promotions, but didn't elaborate further.  I don't want to be too negative but I didn't see any particularly outstanding varieties of fish.   Then again maybe I didn't spend enough time looking around.

Maybe they havent arrived yet

They had alot of cool fish when I was there.

They even had a tank full of small Blue JD's!

I called asking about apistogramma cacautoides and they quoted me a price of $50 per fish.

Completely out to lunch.

I imagine they will be there a long time at that price.

I went to SP merivale  on the weekend.....and I can tell you it is beautiful in there ,especially the fish department.
One of the things I did find out rather quicky was their prices.......
I found them to be quite elevated, mostly their fish and plants.
Iam imagining? or you guys agree with me???????/

Never hurts to shell out a few bucks for nice specimens of other bloodlines though. That's just me, personally... Especially if I plan on breeding the fish. I have a triple red male cacatuoides that I got off my dad's friend (traded for a pair of bolivian rams, can you believe it?) and have been waiting for some nice double or triple red females to creep into town. So far I've been unimpressed. If I see some, even if the price is hefty, I'm going to go for it.

There's some at BA Innes, dobule reds, I think they look pretty good. (make sure u look at the right tank, there's also a tank of "blue tail" cacs that arent as nice.)

BA Innes is just so far away for this Barrhaven dweller, though. ;)

Maybe I'll go this evening. Haha.

Rockin' the suburbs!

QuoteBlue Tail Cacs? , that sounds like a nice fish... no?

They look like double reds but with fainter colours. On the plus side they're half the price of the double reds.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up on what's available! :)
