Custom Stands?

I was wondering if anyone can refer me to a custom stand/cabinet builder?  I'm thinking of upgrading to a 110, or around that range, and if I'm going to spend the money on a nice stand I'd rather have it built then buying one at a mainstream fish store.

What kind of wood are you looking for?


Do you have a color in mind or would yu like it to match your existing furniture or floow?

Hey Pat, I'm flying kind of blind when it comes to the details. I'll be looking for a darkish stain like finish. Nice wood, pine or oak I guess?  As for the footprint, I haven't decided just yet! I'm thinking of staying at 4 ft. Right now, as a placeholder, I'll shoot for the 120 dimensions which I think are 48 1/2 x 24 1/4 x 25 1/2. I'd be looking to fit a fairly large sump in there as well, so that would have to be worked out.  Can you send me a rough quote of what something like that would cost, and perhaps some pointers on what wood and what design I should go with?

I had orignally bought a 90 gallon aquarium the stand was just 2x4 wood, I would have to highly recommend winston199 for building custom stands. Here is the reason why, He built me a stand out of mahogany for my 90 gallon which became the show piece in the middle of my house. I will post pictures tonight of it. Also if you goto ottawa inverts you will see that he also built him the stand for his half moon aquarium in his living room, which will help you make you decision on having a quality stand built for you I hope this helps.

He is a member on ovas who makes custom stands. Dont know much about his stand building, but he will build it custom.
It is nice to have work done by people who share the same hobbies. He has a very large, very impressive reef tank.
