Thought I'd post a pic of my tank, since the fish were being photogenic!

That's a really nice goldfish tank!

I hope my ryunkin gets that big, if my pearlscale even gets anywhere near that size I would be thrilled to death! Nice tank. My 2 little guys are presently living in a bare bottom 10g filled with algea -cuts down on the  feeding costs  :D

The big one?  It's a big anubias barteri, I got it at the giant auction in March.  I love it, wish I had picked up a second!

I'm pretty sure when you pinch the top, it'll branch off another shoot...anyone confirm?

I like the setup, nice goldfish!

Your tank looks very well lit.  What are you using for lighting?

That picture was taken in a dark room with no flash.  The hood came with two 40 W sun-glo bulbs, essentially 1 WPG, though it seems pretty bright.  Nothing fancy, but the plants are doing well; the java fern has new plantlets propagating.  The two BN plecos take care of all the brown algae that grows.

Nice Fish squeeker!

A betta with goldfish?  lol cool!

Nice Tank aswell! :)

Actually...

though things were pretty peaceful at first, yesterday I noticed the big orange ryukin, Mrs. Chubbs, was swimming erraticly, flipping her tail fin all over the place! On the tip of her tail was the betta, with a mouthful of goldie fin, being flung all around! I couldn't believe it!  It looked like the betta was trying to ride a bucking bronco!

The betta, who was previously unnamed, has now been dubbed

        "The Blu B!t(h"

and has been set up in solitary confinement (a one gallon bowl on the dinner table). I don't know what I'm going to do with her... I have no other place to put her... and I am leaving for Europe in a week!   :?  I'll probably end up re-arranging the divided 10 gallon (which currently holds 3 male bettas) from three compartments to four.

I never thought the goldies and the betta would have a problem living together. Now, I recommend to NOT mix the two.

We have one female betta who is called the same (but she's red). She harrasses te other female endlessly, not just chasing her away, but chasing her all around the tank. Fortunately the cockatoos keep her in line the rest of the time.

Update time!

It's been about 4 months, thought I'd show how the tank is looking.

I haven't been able to keep the pennywort alive... but the java ferns and anubias have grown like weeds.  There seems to be a side shoot coming off the big barteri... does anyone know if there's a specific method to splitting it?  Or is it just snip and plant?

The medium-sized white fish in the middle of the picture, Cleo, has been seen terrorizing the big goldfish, Mrs. Chubbs, and shredded her tail fin to bits!  Needless to say, Cleo will be banished to a 20 gallon tub in the near future.

Next, I'd like to get some long vals and use them to hide the air hoses in the corners.

:D

Shouganai

Still an awesome looking tank!

I have a crapton of very tall val (over 2 feet tall) if you want some, let me know. A couple different kinds too, I think. Grows too fast for me!
