Can I used the sand from a cichlid tank for my new SW tank...Can this work or am i asking for trouble...I have a 10 gallon setup that will be moved to the new setup...I was planning on using the LR and LS in that tank for the new setup.

Thanks

I have never used sand in my tank and some more experienced members can coorect me if I'm wrong but adding sand in a reef tank is asking for trouble if it contains silica.

silica = diatom blooms
