Apistos

Ive never kept apistos, but was looking at them at the new store on Merivale.

Are they ususally 50$ a pop? I didnt realise they were so much!

You can get them for $19 per fish at Big Al's.  $15 - $20 per fish is about average for stores.  You can get them from breeders for $5.  This of course depends on size and colour variation, the ones at Big Al's and SP Nepean are Triple Reds.

Yeah... unfortunately, SP is DEFINATELY not the place to buy apistos.

If you can wait... I'm sure there will be another order going in with Tim from Montreal.... excellent fish and VERY reasonable prices.

Big Als West end had some juvenille aggies for 7 bucks each.

If you want to grow 'em out, they'd be a good buy.

SP Kanata has cockatoos (triple orange?) for $30 a pair.  They're a good size.

Hey Squeeker... Is that a male/female pair? Or if I ask nice do you think I can get a fem/fem pair?  Also how big are they? And are they orange flash or triple red? Thanks!

They are male/female pairs.  We only ordered a few pairs so I can't swap them... but I'll ask my manager on Wednesday for ya.

To be honest, I don't know a lot about apistos, so I don' t know if they are orange flash or triple red.  They have 3 completely orange fins, so I assumed that meant triple orange :-)

Three solid orange fins is an orange flash.

A triple red would have black reticulation in the fins....

ok, well then they are orange flash.  I sold a pair today, one pair left.

There is also a pair each of agazizzi (sp?) and opal.

Well. Not really interested in a m/f pair... I'm looking around for my dad. He wants a couple of girls for his pretty triple red male that he has.
