Is it possible to eventually get the water to run clear when you wash crushed coral gravel - gravel is about 0.4cm stuff. It was used in a salt water tank.  I've been rinsing the stuff for about 15min in a big bucket but I still get cloudy water.

when rinsing crush coral or any gravel for that matter, you should always rinse a little portion at a time in a bucket, by moving the gravel in the bucket and having the water overflow the bucket, it will get the dirt out

That's what I've been doing. The  grass is happy (or whatever is left of it) but the gravel keeps clouding the water. I'll go at it again tommorow and then I guess the rest will have to be the job of the filters.

rinse as much as possible off the gravel then put it in ur tank before you and fish are in the and let ur filter clean the rest.
