Do purple mushrooms need light to live?? I have some rock with green hair algea on it and I want to put it in a dark container with an air machine attached. I assume that the algea needs light to live. but some of my rock have mushrooms on it and dont know if they will die

they need light, although they are low light, they still require light for survival

Yup, they would need light to survive, as they get most of their nutrients from the symbiotic algae they host...

It could go for a month with no light... Its all about nutrients, and nutrient control.

Direct sun light is a big no no.

And 10hrs + with MH is starting to get iffy
