lol nice!   do you get any substrate moving around?   i know with my mp20 it doesnt move it.. even with it close to the bottom...   but the 40 sounds insane

No substrate moving but I have it very high up and I've got very coarse sand covered in sticky hair algae slime so not surprising. Really happy with it though the flow is impressive super wide. I bet the next thing for ecotech will be powerheads with even more flow to go up against the big tunze's. Too bad that no other company will be able to have a no wires in the tank solution to bring competition and price down though.

So my old eclipse 29g is almost ready to go... salt mixing as I write this. Got a dual tds today ( can't believe I didn't buy one when I got my RO/DI ) and fully expected crazy high readings and a potential cause of my algae issues. Well, TDS tested at 96 in and 0 out, without calibrating (the unit says it is factory calibrated but that calibration can also be done if req'd.) So I'm happy with 0 tds that's for sure.

I realized there are some rocks with mushroom growing on them and that I won't be able to cook all the rock. The rock I can't cook without killing something I will scrub thoroughly, rinse, and use in the 29 so I at least have some bio-filtration in there and don't rely on carbon / mechanical / water changes only.

There will be a pretty big bioload for the 29g, and not many places for critters to hide. We will see what the trigger feels like in there, although he is the only fish way too big for that tank. The clowns, six line, gramma, chromis, goby, shrimps etc. should be fine I think. Hopefully my derasa clam doesn't mind the 65w power compact for a week or so while I clean the 90g and re-organize.

Also picked up a box of salt for the 100% water change and a few changes in my cooking tub. Probably will be going for about 4 weeks max for cooking. I'll try to update some pics soon.
