So, after some planning I came up with a good water change station for doing a 20% water change on my system.

Here is a picture! :)

There is a Pipe that runs from the RO/DI unit to the Tank seen in picture above that travels about 50ft.  No pressure loss measured :)

1 Powerhead (K4) for mixing salt and a small <50watt heater to bring the water to a similar temp.

Anyone have any interesting water change methods? :)

I just refined my method last week which is so much more efficient. When I told Tyler he laughed at me like I was telling him the Flyers have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the Stanley Cup.

  • 30 gallon bin next to sump mixing and heating new saltwater
  • 30 gallon bin next to sump for old water
  • pump old water out into empty bin till its at the same level as the new saltwater
  • pump new water into sump
  • pump old water into basement utility sink

Done as fast as a mag 7 can pump 90 gallons of water.
