Final meeting for the 2009-2010 season May 31st

Our May meeting will be the final organized meeting for the 2009-2010 season, please note this  meeting will be on Monday May 31st & NOT MAY 24TH, this meeting will be highlighted by the clubs executive election for the 2010-2011 season which commences in Sept. 2010.
We would also be having an exciting presentation by Udo Rohmann, Udo will be telling us about the Hamburg Mat Filter (Power Point and hands on demonstration on how to construct this filter) and a condensed version of his European Fish keeping tips and tricks (Power Point and hands on examples of various items
Please note we will not be having a mini auction at this meeting, but our usual OVAS café & members door prizes along with a sampling of our extensive library will be in attendance & of course your opportunity to meet fellow hobbyist one on one, no key boards & screen .
When : Monday May 31 st
Where : J.A. Dulude Arena - Mel Baker Hall, 941 Clyde Ave.
Time : 7.00 PM

Who is Udo Rohmann:
Udo has been in in the Hobby for over 33 years. He is a member of Peel Regional Aquarium Club and Durham Region Aquarium Society. He currently keeps African, Central and South American Cichlids, Live bearers, various Catfish, Invertebrates and Plants. Udo has 34 tanks with a total volume of 1450 gallons. Tank sizes range from 2 all the way to 350 gallons.

Our last meeting for the 2009-2010 season was quite an enjoyable one, the presentation by Udo Rohmann certainly got the members involved which spurred a lot of questions & keen interest in the filter, Thanks Udo.
Our guest speaker & his wife were treated to a delightful dinner @ the Silver Spoon Thai Cuisine on Sunday which was attended by some 13 of us followed by the informative presentation on Monday & was concluded by a few wings,etc & cold beverages of choice @ Monkey Joe`s after the meeting  ;)also the fine door prizes which included an Aqua Clear filter , Posters from Lisa`s book store ( Ken & Lisa Boorman) & numerous fishy caves kindly donated by Pleco Caves & supplemented by some purchased ones by the club.
In summary the meeting was great, thanks to all who came out for the first time & the repeat attendees, hope to see you all @ the BBQ on June 13 TH.

Thank-you Udo for coming and done an amazingly informative, hands on presentation!

We must also thank Errol for arranging for Udo to come and make this happen! He did a great job working with the other exec's to get speakers!

I received an e mail from Udo, he sends his thanks & praise for our club.

Marg and I want to thank you and OVAS for your very generous hospitality over the last couple of days. We had a great time! You have an excellent club .
