Fluval 404 Problems

I have to use a shop vac to get my fluval going, the so called primer is nothing more then decoration.  Mine will gurgle, rattle and make noises that unless use to them make you think you have to run out and buy another one.

A small shop vac ($39) will prime it quick and save on wear and tear on the pump it self.

There is an issue here guys. Before the filter will work properly it needs a good impeller. Her impeller came with a missing blade. That will make it rattle because it will be out of balance when it spins. It will also not have enough suction power to draw the water needed.

I had a 304 with a broken impeller and it rattled plus wouldn't draw water. New impeller and bang it was working with the normal priming.
