hola
i finally started to stock both my tanks . i bought a dwarf gourami for the 10g and i was looking into tankmates. im decided to get guppies in the 10g but dont really know how many and what male/ female ratio to get. could you help me on this.the tank is planted and tankmates will be 2 ottos and 2 cories

I would say go for endler's. They stay a bit smaller, are more colorful, and are different. For either one I would say 1 or 2 males and 2 females.

Raven

are they more expensive than the regular fancies?

mseguin

Not usually, occasionally a bit more.

3 or 4 females to 1 male is a better ratio, and is also a safer bet because male livebearers can get pretty vicious when they want to breed, so the more females you have in there... then the more the aggression will be spread out amongst the females.

3 males and 1 female is a bad idea i guess. i wanted color not breeding. got krib for that. if there are no females will there still be agression?

It's possible that there might be aggression if you got all males because they would go insane if they didn't have any females to impregnate so they might take it out on eachother.

This is only a mere possibility though and from my personal experiences aswell, so it could also depend on the guppies themselves.

k. do they make 3/4 black females?i guess ill try my luck and go for 2 males and 2 females.
