Never experienced consistant bubbles Marx, and I've changed media more times than I can remember.  In spite of your leak checks, I can't imagine any other reason for bubbles but a leak.  I would remove the media and try running the filter in a wash tub to see if it still blows bubbles - that would of course eliminate the media as a source and confirm that you have a mechanical problem.

Mark I have same problem with my XP3, suspecting O rings on inlet and outlet pipes. Try to turn pipes to find position with no side presure from your hoses, it sometimes help.

If it's air bubbles... then it would only be from the suction side of the canister, not the pressure side.

Check everything from the intake hose all the way to the pump head.  Anything past that and your on the pressure side... where water would be leaking out, not air leaking in.

it's probabley an airlock, i experienced the same thing once, so what i did was install a T-Line (in much the same way Extreme PC Builders fit them to WC systems) and within a day the bubbles stopped.

ok went home at lunch.. turned off rena.. and tilted it on all 4 sides.. then turned it on.. and bingo blew crap loads of bubbles and then no more.. must have had airlock...

Thanks all!
