fish only and BTA

My fiancee and I just bought a house and this gives me the space to set up my 180 gallon tank.  The main reason for this tank is for some of the bigger, less reef safe fish puffer, triggers, angels...etc
My question is, will a mated pair of maroons be mean enough to fight off larger fish in defense of their bta?  or will they other fish still manage to eat the anemone?

I was going to use a basic t5 light over most of the tank but put a mh pendant over the bta.  I figure with the weaker lighting it wont venture to far from where I put it.
