Are you ready!
We have another excellent speaker lined up for our March meeting.
The meeting will be held on Monday March 28 at 7 PM at JA Dulude Arena.

I would like to introduce Mark Curtis.

Mark Curtis was a long time advanced hobbyist when he migrated to Canada in 1992. His expertise earned him a position as Fisheries Manager and then General manager at Picov's Water Garden Centre and Fisheries, in Ajax Ontario.
Mark started his own business specializing in Japanese Koi and ponds called Shekinah Aquatic Solutions in 2000. Mark has extensive experience procurement of Koi and Goldfish. In his  pursuit of high quality fish he has travelled extensively, to Japan, China, Hong Kong,Singapore and Israel. his talk will cover Koi Varieties.

We will end the meeting with a mini auction.

We will also meet before the meeting for Supper.  All are welcome. Stay tuned for details.

White Lightning

Right on! I look forward to this. I have to restock my pond come spring so this should be helpful.

Fishnut

I've been waiting for this for sooo long!! :D  Can't wait!!  Mark LOVES to talk koi.  I speni 2 or 3 hours talking about koi at his garden centre a couple of years ago and I still didn't scratch the surface.

Nerine

WOW!!! I really enjoyed this talk on Koi! Thank you Mark!! and looking forward to seeing his Koi again this year ;D

I can't believe how many types of koi are out there and the prices they go for! LOL he truly has a passion for them and that is so refreshing to see!! I learned a lot tonight, and the major thing I learned, that my new pond will NOT be able to house any koi!!! I think I'll stick with some cichlids or something haha

I knew Koi got big, but I had no idea how different of a setup they needed compared to goldfish.

We should for sure have another koi and pond meeting again next spring!!!

The cake was also fantastic :D Thanks Wayne for picking it up!!

And there will be more magazines at the next meeting too!! I will try and bring a lot more as they went very quickly!!

Thanks Peter for arranging to get him to Ottawa for a talk.  It was a great!!

You're right Nerine.  When I visited Mark for the first time, I learned so much!  I went home and had to completely re-design my pond...PLUS convince Mr. Fishnut that we needed to do this koi pond thing  ;D.  I'm still working out the final details but construction IS going to start as soon as the ground has defrosted!!
