3-Motley Crue in Miami Dr Feelgood tour had me going for days and I still remember the rush to this day

First of all, you've forced me to do something I've wanted to do for a long time - make a list. I'm up to about 25 and I'm sure I've forgotten half. I also have a headache.

Also not fair to impose a limit of three, there are just too many honourable mentions.

Top three, in no particular order -

Paul Simon, Ottawa Civic Center - more percussion than you'll ever see again in one place. The stage went the entire length of the ice.

Supertramp, Lansdowne Park - they set up on the North sidelines and played to the Southside stands; none of that nasty echo. Second time was during a thunderstorm at Lansdowne. Power went off right in the middle of The Logical Song. After about an hour delay, they resumed playing at the exact same note they were at when the power went out.

A tie here between The Who at Maple Leaf Gardens and the Stones here in Ottawa. Sorry, I got four in.

The worst is also a toss-up. Chris de Burgh at the Civic Center - I love the band but the show was 'weak'. Or, Meat Loaf at the Civic Center - the big, fat fool fell off the front of the stage and broke his leg. End of show, and no refund.

All great names for sure.  I agree it is hard to limit to 3 when so many can be listed.  As for LoudLove I use to mix them down at the Brickstone so know them well.

As for Chad being a knucklehead, name a rockstar that isnt in one way or another  lol

Randy, how can you not like a band that has produced some of the most amazing lyrics in modern music. I give you:

Rhyming the word "no" with the word "know" is understated brilliance.

Monorhythmatic poetry is some of the most difficult (in grade school) poetry to write as witnessed in the the last line when Mr. Kroeger runs out of words ending in "oh" and has to substitute the "ohs" sound. It's this kind of talent that separates an artist from the rest of us slobs

I think it's the $50 million he's made from stringing those monosyllabic words together that separates him from the rest of us slobs...

I tend to agree, if you go look up the lyrics for Next Contestant, Rockstar and Animals you will see it relates to almost everyone that experienced growing up.  He is one of the better writers of today which is why they have done so well.  Alot of people put down the band due to sounding the same.

There is a big different from sounding the same and having a sound.  I guess some examples would be Led Zeplin, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, AC/DC.  There isnt one of those bands that come on the radio that you dont know who it is right away.  Personally I think that is what makes a star, to be recognised no matter what your taste in music is.

For the most part if they suck I don't go. As a kid my first concert was Brian Adams. He was so popular at the time everyone knew every damn lyric to the songs. So they sang the whole way through, and that's all I could hear. What is the point in that. I didn't go to hear a bunch of fools singing together. I'm here to listen to Brian Adams. It was a disappointing start to my concert attending. Thankfully Dave Mathews changed all that
