hey guys.
I currently have a 55g bowfront
I don like it and want a change, its a tall tank.
what do you guys suggest for a tank size?
are breeders the best for coral growth because of there shalloness?
I would like to stay in a tank with a 3foot lenght

White Lightning

For a three footer I would go with the 33 gallon. I have one set up as a reef.

Severum

If you want a shallow 3 footer go for a 50 gallon.

So I went with a 55gallon, but it is 4 feet long. I didnt realise the limitation to drilled tanks. I just hop i can keep the face clean on this one . the bow front was a pain to clean. but I am really going to enjoy the top skimming of the new tank. I hope it helps my water quality

What limitation to drilled tanks?

There is more benefits to drilled tanks then downsides.

Just make sure if you have a bottom drilled tank, the bulkheads are in good and tight...   :-\  You don't want a drip under there once everything is plumbed and running....  Uhh.. not that it happened to me...  :-X

Yes... IF that happened to me .. uhh.. on sunday, for example, I would have been happy that the little drip is was going right into the sump underneath...  And I would also have been happy to see that the drip stopped once my return pump was running.  A little salty crud or perhaps just the constant flow seems to have fixed it up - for now.. or... uhh.. WOULD have fixed that up - if that happened to me -- on sunday at 9:42PM.   :-[
